The Young Fabians Podcast

Gender Equality in the Curriculum

For our first episode in our International Women's Day series on the theme #choosetochallenge, we discuss the importance of embedding gender equality in our schools and our education system and ideas for how to achieve this.

Our discussion focused on three key ideas: Introducing gender equality into the curriculum implicitly by addressing the gender data gap; To explicitly challenge gender inequality and everyday sexism, and to embed specific/explicit gender equality education into the curriculum with the aim to stop making feminism a ‘dirty’ word.

This episode idea was suggested to us by YF member Katharine Roddy as part of our IWD series. Over the next two weeks, we will be releasing many episodes centred around the theme #choosetochallenge.
