Interview w/ Shadow Education Secretary, Kate Green MP
Show Notes

For the past 10 years, consecutive governments have certainly not made life any easier for young people.  From the hike in tuition costs and removal of maintenance grants to the funding cuts for schools and rising class numbers, the list goes on. However, in recent months, the government has been so clearly ineffective and incompetent in their inability to provide the basic support that school children, students and the whole education sector deserves throughout this crisis.

In this week's episode, I'm joined by Kate Green, MP for Stretford and Urmston and Shadow Secretary of State for Education, to discuss the ways which consecutive governments have failed young people and the education sector, as well as throughout the pandemic and what the Labour Party's vision for education reform looks like.

We also talked about Kate's work in tackling child poverty and social and educational inequalities prior to becoming an MP, as well as her experience within the Fabian Society, of which she is a member of the Executive Committee and former Chair!
